Domaine Romain Pertuzot Beaune 1er Cru 'Clos des Mouches' Rouges 2023

The Beaune Premier Cru ‘Clos des Mouches’ is a celebrated vineyards, known for its exceptional terroir and the production of both red and white wines of outstanding quality. Situated in the southern part of the Beaune appellation, near the Pommard border, this 25-hectare vineyard boasts a rich history and is a benchmark for Beaune's Premier Cru offerings.
The name "Clos des Mouches" translates to "enclosure of the flies," which actually refers to honeybees ("mouches à miel" or "honey making flies")  historically found in the area.

Tom's tasting notes:

All destemmed 25% new oak on the border with pommard facing south east argyle and limestone soils 35 years old

No whole bunch fermented in large oak and aged in barriques for 18 months.

Red fruits florals high toned cherry liquor, really detailed and perfumed.

Fine packed tannins silky and fine red fruits long and elegant, classy finish, this will age beautifully.
