Serrat Fourre-Tout 2019
The literal translation is catchall , which in our minds means bringing together all the tiny bits and pieces on the new plantings and creating a new wine.
This release is a blend of Barbera, Malbec, Grenache and Nebbiolo. The idea is create a delicious and interesting wine that is not dominated by one variety, but captures the essence of each variety. The resultant wine, one of individuality and real interest.
Deeply colored, the bouquet is laden with black fruits, blackberry, plum and a spicy kick from the Malbec. There is a noticeable brambly blackcurrant note this is quite intriguing.
The palate is juicy and rich with chewy tannins. It’s got loads of presence and interest, there is the richness from the Barebera that is held in check with the savouriness of the Malbec and Nebbiolo. Grenache provides the fragrance and lift.
